We achieve this finish by first grinding the concrete to full exposure, then applying an acid mix with “etches” about 1mm of the fine sand and concrete around the aggregate, leaving the aggregate slightly higher. This leaves a smooth non-slip finish that is suitable for children and feels great underfoot unlike the tradition exposed aggregate. The concrete is then high pressure cleaned and sealed with a sealer in a gloss level of the client’s choice to ensure a long life.
